Bible Verses for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day, also known as Saint Valentines’ Day, began as a church holiday on February 14 in honor of martyrs – saints whose names were Valentine or Valentinus. It is believed that the first valentine note of the heart was sent by Valentine who was in prison for the girl he loved. Valentines notes are recorded much later than in the past. While the meaning and celebration of Valentine’s Day has changed, it has always been a special day of loving bathing for those we hold close to.

Valentine’s Day can create different emotions for different people. For some it is a great satisfaction to celebrate the love you have for yourself, your spouse, and your friends and family. For some, it may create feelings of loneliness. Whether you are single or married, let these Bible verses encourage you to celebrate, for God has unconditional love for us. No matter what age you are or what age you are in life, Valentine’s Day can be celebrated because of God’s great love.
